Reverend Tommy "the cat" Townsend is the piecer and owner of the Planet Freak body piercing shop located inside the Meridian Underground. Tommy began his piercing career in 1997. He ran 'The Crystal Image' piercing shop from January of '97 to August of '97.

In August he moved into a local tattoo shop and worked there until the summer of '98. On June 11th, 1998 he opened his own shop, 'Planet Freak', inside The Meridian Underground Music Exchange. In addition to running his own shop, he has also pierced at numerous festivals, such as "Mojo Fest" in New Orleans, "Huffest", and all "Meridian Underground Sidewalk Jams".

Tommy is a member of the MPA (Mississippi Piercing Association). Tommy uses only the highest quality jewelry crafted from 316L Surgical Stainless Steel. This is recommended for body piercing. He crafts some of his jewelry, but the majority of his selection comes from the renown piercing company Pleasurable Piercings. Tommy is the most accomplished body piercer in the area. You can trust and rely on your piercing experience to be pleasant and enjoyable when you come to Planet Freak!
